Exposition personnelle

à la Gallery Lock In / Brighton (GB)

An opportunity to access a unique gallery housed in two converted garages in Brighton & see the work of French artist Pierre-Yves Brest. Although Brest is an established artist, this is his first exhibition in Brighton.

Brest's practice includes photography, video and photo-based installation. His work is frequently constructed from a series of images, each dedicated to the study of a particular situation or location. Through a strategy of invisibility, absence and silence, Brest invites us to reflect on our relationship to time, to history & to changes in our world.
Brest lives in Lille and works at La Malterie. Since 2001 he has been a lecturer at École supérieure d'art de Cambrai.

Christine Gist, curator / Tempo Arts

- Launch event on Wednesday 12 September 19.00

- The artist & curator will be on hand to answer questions & discuss the work

on Thursday 13 September 14.00 - 15.30 during the Heritage Open Days.

- Saturday 22 September 15.30 - 16.30

It's aim is to develop experimental methods for the documentation of architecture and landscape, and to engage with institutional contexts through specifically sited curateorial and publication projects.
